Our Story
Designed by an instructor.
Refined in practice.
Core by Chloe is a Pilates house built on one principle: every piece is thoughtfully designed by an instructor, tested in real sessions and refined with feedback from the community who use it.

01 — Origins
A practice without a home.
When Chloe began practising Pilates, the essentials of the method were nowhere in one place. Accessories, equipment and weights were scattered across several stores, and a grip sock worthy of the reformer was the hardest of all to find.
02 — The shortfall
Close was never enough.
She bought grip socks in store and online, some priced alongside Core. Most were predominantly polyester. The grip held the carriage, but the fabric gathered beneath the foot and the foot moved within the sock, like wearing an extra-large glove on a small hand.
Few pairs kept their shape beyond a month. Elsewhere in the studio, rings pressed into the legs and ankle weights refused to stay in place.
The fault was never the practice. It was the design.
03 — The response
Detail, treated as a discipline.
Nothing she found was beyond repair. It needed someone who uses the equipment every day to care how it feels in use. Core began where every class begins: at the feet.
-
What she found: Predominantly polyester
What Core became: A cotton-rich knit, soft and substantial
-
What she found: The foot moving inside the sock
What Core became: A ribbed arch and ankle that hold it still
-
What she found: Shape lost within weeks
What Core became: A reinforced heel and toe that keep their form
-
What she found: Printed logos that crack and peel
What Core became: Every design embroidered, never printed
-
What she found: Several stores for one kit
What Core became: One destination for the whole practice

04 — The instructor
An instructor first.
Chloe is an internationally trained, studio-certified Pilates instructor, qualified in Reformer, Matwork, Cadillac and Wunda Chair, from foundational to advanced level. She teaches privately, by referral only.
That private practice is where every Core piece is proven. Each design is worn and used in real sessions, and what she sees there, together with honest feedback from the people who train with her and the wider Pilates community, decides what changes before anything is released.
Tested where it matters: in practice.
05 — Process
Designed with intent. Tested in practice.
Nothing is released until it has passed through the same five stages.
-
Design
Each piece begins with Chloe and is drawn in-house, shaped by what she sees in her sessions.
-
Sampling
Samples are made to a fixed specification: a cotton-rich knit, ribbed arch and ankle, reinforced heel and toe, and a substantial non-slip grip.
-
Testing
Worn and used in private sessions, and fit-tested on an AU men's 13, the upper limit of the size range.
-
Feedback
Refined with honest feedback from the Pilates community before a final sample is approved.
-
Approval
Only what meets the standard is released.

06 — Construction
Foot first. Artwork second.
Select each point to see how a pair is made.
-
Drawn in-house and finished in thread, with no print to crack or peel.
-
Holds the sock in place, so the grip never works alone.
-
Supports the midfoot and keeps the foot steady within the sock.
-
Strengthened where wear is greatest, so the shape endures.
-
A substantial grip that holds on the carriage, the mat and the studio floor.
-
Soft and substantial, with an easy stretch. Not predominantly polyester.

The philosophy
Joseph Pilates called his method Contrology, placing control at its centre. Core holds everything it makes to the same discipline, down to the foot.
08 — Vision
One destination for the practice.
Core by Chloe is a Pilates house, not a sock label. Grip socks came first because they were the clearest problem to solve. Everything that follows will be made the same way: designed by an instructor, tested in practice and refined with the community, from a ring that sits comfortably to ankle weights that stay where they are placed.
Alongside the collection will come practical guidance, from what to wear and bring to a first class to the essentials in Chloe's own studio bag. Proudly Australian and independent, for the newcomer and the devoted alike.
